Transfer season in Qatar
As the new season kicks off in Qatar in September, clubs are now looking for heavy reinforcements. The biggest highlight is the signing of Swiss international Hakan Yakin by the reigning champions Al Gharrafa. He will team-up with the Iraqi star Younis Mahmoud in the attacking formation of the team, unless the last year's Asian Player of the Year runner-up moves to Europe. Qatar SC on the other hand signed two internationals: ex-Premiership player Youssef Safri from Morocco and ex-Gremio guy Roger from Brazil. French side Nancy's Brazilian striker Kim also went to Qatar and singed for Al Arabi. Talking about France, Paris Saint-Germain last season's top scorer and saver Amara Diane is set to join Al Rayyan. The fate of Qatar SC striker Ali Karimi is yet unknown but it is unlikely that he stays in the team.
